Cedar Corner Development is a 9,000 sq ft commercial building that has been designed and constructed using the Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Process. This will be the only LEED constructed building to house a restaurant. The Project Manager Warren Rudd took interested people on a tour of the building and discussed the sustainable design and environmental building materials and practices that have created this unique and very attractive building. Posts and beams for Cedar Corner were originally milled
in 1881 for the Alert Bay Cannery. Windows throughout the building are metal with
a thermal break. Low E argon windows are used. The floor boards of the second
story are 3 inch double tongue and groove and open to the first floor. |
